NASCAR veteran and fan favorite Greg Biffle teams up again with Sigma Performance Services for ARCA Menards Series West action on August 9.
***FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*** West Richland, WA — Tri-City Raceway and Sigma Performance Services (SPS) are excited to announce that NASCAR legend Greg Biffle will return to ARCA Menards Series West competition at Tri-City Raceway on Saturday, August 9, 2025, driving the #23 Chevrolet for SPS in the NAPA AutoCare 150 presented by Vic’s Auto Care. This marks Biffle’s second straight year competing at Tri-City Raceway—a track that played a major role in the early days of his career. Biffle is no stranger to success here, having been a former track champion at Tri-City Raceway, making this homecoming even more meaningful for fans. Born in Portland and raised in Vancouver, Washington, Biffle grew up racing on short tracks across the Pacific Northwest, and this event brings him back to where it all began. After a strong run last year, Biffle returns with unfinished business to take another shot at victory on the ½-mile tri-oval. His appearance in 2024 was a fan favorite and reminded everyone why Tri-City Raceway remains one of the premier racing venues in the West. Now, he’s back with the same determination that earned him championships in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Xfinity Series, as well as a spot among NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers. “I’m excited to be back at Tri-City Raceway for a second year with SPS,” said Greg Biffle. “I feel like I have some unfinished business from last year, and I’m thankful we were able to put this deal together on short notice. Sigma puts a great car on the track, and I can’t wait to get behind the wheel again. I really enjoyed racing with the drivers last year, and I’m looking forward to battling both familiar faces and some new competition.” “We’re honored and excited to welcome Greg Biffle back to Tri-City Raceway for the ARCA Menards Series West,” said Greg Walden, Tri-City Raceway Promoter. “A big thank you to Joe Farré and the SPS team, and to our presenting sponsor, Vickie Smith of Desert Food Mart, for making this possible.” “Time to rip off your sleeves, Tri-Cities- Greg Biffle is back and the Tri-Oval is about to get rowdy!" said- Laci Tolar, Tri-City Raceway Project Manager/ Marketing Director. “Having Greg Biffle back at Tri-City Raceway creates an atmosphere you can’t find anywhere else,” said Joe Farré, SPS Team Owner. “This track, these fans, and a driver of his caliber make this more than a race—it’s an experience fans will never forget, and we’re proud to be a part of it.” Biffle and SPS remain dedicated to supporting grassroots racing and the tracks where it all begins, ensuring fans can continue to experience the energy and tradition of the sport for years to come. We would like to recognize the hard work that went into making this event possible by the team at Tri-City Raceway, and extend a special thank you to Desert Food Mart and all the local sponsors who stepped up in a big way. Originally built in 1968 , the track had several successful seasons, Nascar Grand National West, Nascar Northwest Tour visited the speedway several times up through the 2003 Season. Promoting from 1982 to 1998, the Walden family built the speedway to one of the Northwest's most successful venues. Under new ownership in 1999, the track eventually was shuttered in 2004. The speedway was closed and scheduled for demolition.
17 years later the property was purchased by the City of West Richland for a police station. A tire/sound test was conducted on the speedway in 2020, a lease was executed in 2021. and the Walden Family got to promote the speedway again, Speedway Promotions LLC. Success is attributed to the Red Mountain Event Center project team of Jesse Brown, Mark Jacobs, Eric Van Winkle, and many more businesses and individuals who got the 90 acre facility back to usable, both with labor and funding. The City of West Richland and Mayor Brent Gerry were absolutely critical to the decision to move ahead with the multi use facility/ race track reopening, leading the team down the necessary avenues to revive this historic venue!
